“Sage Qualifications’ customer service is, during normal times, nothing short of exceptional. If there was a 5-star system to rate their service it would easily be 5 stars plus for their overall quality, flexibility, promptness and a genuine sense of caring for their customers.
But during the Covid-19 crisis that was suddenly upon us, their support and adaptability was beyond any conceivable expectations.

A new course was developed quickly to allow students with limited domestic technical facilities not to miss out on Sage Accounts study, a course that was now exclusively home-based -taught and -assessed, a transition that had to be planned and delivered in a week. Without the fantastic support of Sage Qualifications, which included open contact at weekends, this transition would not have been possible. Out of all of this, the most important factor in all this hard work is the student. Cardiff and Vale College has been working with SAGE to provide students with industry-standard software to support AAT qualification delivery. Our learners through SAGE have been working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Utilising SAGE software for individual learners, support materials and the expertise of our academic staff has allowed them to continue to develop their skills and knowledge.

We have always found SAGE staff to be friendly, helpful, flexible and efficient and would recommend them to other FE sector providers, as they have supported our learners’ needs and provided a platform for our team to continue teaching our accounting qualifications.

Due to the special situation of Covid-19 - I had two classes who were midway through Sage and whilst on lockdown I found that our learners needed to practice at home, which they could only do if they had a copy of Sage, after a flurry of emails between all concerned, a purchase order was raised and off we went.

Working with Sage Qualifications, was really easy. A small form of details to fill in, so that Sage Qualifications could set each individual student up on the system. They each get a link to download the software, and then they are away, unlimited practice for 6 months. Sage Qualifications were amazing, with each student and computer comes its own set of problems and Sage Qualifications were right there to help. Some students had never installed software, before and the team made it easy, some students made mistakes during installation, and the team at Sage Qualifications fixed them too. I got emails replies both at 6:50am and at 11:20pm on the same day! It was superb to have another voice to help, and get everyone up and running.

Having this as part of the overall curriculum is amazing. It has taken a huge amount of pressure off the students, as they would normally have to travel to college to practice on the PCs there, now with it in their homes, the students are completing the mocks, extracting the correct reports, and I can mark them, which makes it a million times easier for me, to spot the mistakes they have made, give them feedback to explain, and they can do another mock and not repeat the same mistake.

We will definitely be including this at Knowsley in the upcoming enrolment, and using it as a selling point, access to Sage Qualifications is an added benefit to an AAT Level 2 course
